Trad@Lunch: Bloom of Youth – Gavin / Glancy Quartet

Tuesday 3rd August 2021 @ 1pm

Two musical families combine to bring four of Sligo’s finest young talents together for this special one-off FleadhFest event. Comprising two members from each of the Gavin and Glancy families, this concert will showcase the exceptional musical talent to be found in the Sligo area.

Tom Gavin from Sligo Town is an exceptional flute and tin whistle player. A Senior All Ireland Flute champion he has also toured with Macalla na hÉireann, Comhaltas’ Tour of Ireland in 2018. His sister Kate is a wonderful harp and fiddle player with a beautiful voice to match.

Aaron Glancy is an accomplished button accordion player and sean-nós dancer with many accolades. In 2020 Aaron took part in the Comhaltas Tour of Great Britain. His sister Ava is an accomplished fiddle player and also a sean-nós dancer who has competed at all levels in Fleadhanna Ceoil. Both are members of CCÉ Paddy Killoran.

We invite musicians from all around the world to learn new tunes with our expert tutors at Scoil Éigse, which will take place online throughout Fleadhfest.

A series of lectures and performances which look at some of the historical aspects of our music and culture.
